Chris,

Tact and I are planning on heading up to Ypsilante, MI to see Brian (Phreakdout) after the Columbus meet and it's on the way to Detroit. This would be another continuation if you're up for it. I hope Brian doesn't mind.

Well I will let you know for sure since I haven't completely decided yet.

^^^ Just changed my PLUGS just to get ready for this meet!

Hoping to make it, despite a really tight schedule. Wondering how many we will have at the pre-meet location?

(Unfortunately, the SUPRA will not be ready by that date! FAR too many COSTS associated with the next phase! :-? )

Hope to see a number of you in Columbus... it'd be good to get a "group shot" from a "sky perch" or some such thing. Anyone know of a good spot in the area?

^ Yeah there is actually a one level parking garage that is not the most popular place to park because its not easy to access and its out of the way at easton. That may work. Otherwise the parking lot for the country club at my apartment which has a little hill that rises above it.

So long as we can get the cars arranged in a reasonable "pack", and I can get a couple meters elevation... I have both wide and ultra-wide... even fisheye, if it nets a good result.

Keep some ideas in mind, and if you are in the area (anyone) perhaps some scoping out would help us when we get there?

I was looking at the area by my apartment and the hill sits up roughly 3-4 feet. There is usually enough spaces open in the back of the lot where we maybe able to get some good pics. Im just worried if the country club will fire it up if we are there even if its for an hour. Ill take some empty pics to see if you would like that area. If so I can call the country club and ask if they care if we used their back lot for an hour or two. Just as long as nobody does dumb stuff in their lot I wouldn't think it would matter. Ill check and see how packed it gets on Saturday too. If we do it there then some people can leave their cars at my place if they dont want to worry about paying for parking at the show in downtown. But even if we do it at easton and someone wanted to leave their car at my place we could swing by and drop it off if need be.

Let's plan on meeting up at 1pm and then grabbing some lunch around the vecinity...food for thoughts anyone???

Those that know the Columbus area well should map out a small route for us to cruise around town and then we can grab lunch. Let me know what you guys think.

There is a lot around Easton and Polaris. Here is what I can think of off the top of my head. Sorry if I mis-spell stuff. My place is 10mins from either place. So far the meeting place is at Easton. I will have to go find a good place to meet at Easton. Easton has 4 or 5 parking garages miles of parking lots. Polaris doesn't have any parking garages as far as I can remember, but tons of parking lots.

Easton has:
JD Mongolian BBQ (stir fry)
Adobe Gilas (mexican)
On the Border (mexican)
Cheesecake Factory (everything)
Applebees (everything)
Pot Belly (sandwiches)
Bravos (Italian)
California Pizza Kitchen (Pizza)
Champs (Bar/Grill)
Logans Steakhouse
Abuellos (mexican)
Red Robin (best burgers ever!)
Chipoltle (mexican)
PF Changs (Chinese)
Max and Ermas (everything)
Buffalo Wild Wings (wings/burgers)
Much more...

Polaris has:
Texas Roadhouse (steakhouse)
Carabas (Italian)
Olive Garden (italian)
Quakerstate & Lube (wings/burgers)
Cheesburger Paradise (burgers)
Sonic (burgers)
Chipoltle (mexican)
Mimi's Cafe (italian I think)
Hooters (wings/burgers)
Buffalo Wild Wings (wings/burgers)
California Pizza Kitchen (pizza)
Qdoba (mexican)
Applebees (everything)

All the fast food places at either place

Im game for any place so you guys pick or we can decide on a place the day of.

so we, the folks from the south will meet up at kings toyota and cruise up together?
the mapquest says it'll take about an hour and half

http://www.mapquest.com/mq/9-wzvXr9RnQPSVw9bJ

i'm pretty close from kings toyota, so someone just pick a time and we'll meet up.
if you haven't been to kings toyota, i suggest coming a little earlier and look around.
they have huge indoor lot and it is pretty fun just to see.

I'm tempted to suggest lunch at the Japanese Restaurant on Old Henderson, although despite great food, it might not be a great "car-forum-group" dine-in. 8)

I may only be able to meet up with the guys from SG, and then roll shortly after by early to mid-afternoon. HIN may have to come second to just making the group event for us. :-?

Kings toyota is a pretty cool place! I had my car serviced there once for my timing belt. Their new showroom is huge! I took a pic of this solara there once!
