Yeah, the manual release is just a plastic lever to pull the cable. So all the goodies should be at or near the release. Still seems odd not having a key hole as a backup if that cable ever fails.

Yeah, well i adjusted the tension on each side up to max. Now the trunk actualy opens (only 2/3rds) when i pop it. As for a backup if the cable fails, the keyfob should be on it's own system, and there is allways the emergency handle.

how much did it open before?
my trunk only opens up about 3 inches when i release it with the latch or the remote....and even less when i haven't opened it for awhile

before, if you didn't know it was open, it would look closed, opened about 1" max on it's own unless the wind was helping.
