Oil change - evacuation pump

Here is an option so you can avoid oil spill, don’t need to remember lefty loose for oil pan bolt and mess with jacks.
My second car is a diesel Jetta ( 52 mpg) and I learned about these pumps in the other forums. Pela PL-650

So, is this device inserted into the dipstick tube? I'm worried about removing deposits inside the oil pan. How exactly does this vacuum pump work?

after all if deposits removed it's only good thing.

Nice video! In our cars it is sufficient to just vacuum drain from the bottom. Funny how those TDI engines have big (twice our size?) and open media filters. Guess they must produce a lot of contaminants... probably due to hotter diesel engines?

Like you sad diesel does not burn as clean as gas – just nature of the fuel. On top of this new design TDI and DI engines have many parts that work under extreme load – injection pump, injectors, turbo –just a few.
If you have a few minutes, here you can get the feeling how particular these engines are

Interesting reading on the TDI engines. Anyhow, I like the oil pump stuff. Maybe I will purchase one soon, since it gives me back the $5 recycling fee per oil change I'm losing now. :sweet:

I have not seen any one uses Pela on Toyota engines yet :lol:

Reading posts about TDI engines some have restriction in the dip stick tube.
Just curios if Pela sales /support have an opinion if the suction tube will reach to the bottom of the pen...

This what the disclaimer says. I'd totally agree...

Safety
Drive carefully at all times, and if you run over any foreign object on the road, pull over and check the valve for any damage or leak.

N-Series valve(with Nipple to accept hose) is not recommended for passenger cars with low ground clearance.
