New to forum (and Toyotas in general)
Evening all. I just moved backed to Florida from Canada and needed a good quality used car. I didn't have a car in Canada (didn't need one with the great transportation system in Toronto), but the last car I owned was a Gran Marquis. In fact, I had never owned a foreign car, always going with Fords of GM's. I wanted a low maintenance car and wanted something inexpensive enough I could pay cash. No small order. After an exhausting search, I had my choices narrowed down to the obvious choices of Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, as well as Nissan Altima.
I really like the Accord coupes until I heard about the transmission problems th '98-'02's had. The Altimas were certainly affordable, and had a good reputation, but the build quality didn't seem to be there (at least in the cars I looked at).
Then I found my Solara. '99 SLE V6, 120,000 miles, one owner, accident free and well maintained. I knew I had found my car.
I've only has it for a week, but it's a pleasure to drive and I'm thoroughly enjoying it!
