CAI extension interest??UPDATE...PICS!!!

Hey, how come mine is 3 inches short when I tried to install it?
I can't connect my INJEN with the extension, there's a three inch gap between the INJEN and the extension...
My INJEN is black, and mine is a Gen 1.5. Does that matter? Do I need to buy something else or adjust something somewhere?

I want one but knowing once I get one I'll only want to push my car more and guzzle more gas when gas is already high as it is.. mehh . might as well probably since... gas is always juts going to continue to rise.. i hear its a pain to install though so mehh.

^ if you think a CAI extension is a pain to install, you shouldnt mod your car... try doing a rear main seal on a solara j/k

CAI always require some hands on work...When I installed a CAI on my WRX I had to remove the left wheel and unfastened that black thing that covers the fender...took me 4 hours to put that f*ckin' thing in...after that install i decided to save my time and just pay some1 to do all my install for me...

just jack the car up, pull the wheel and fender liner, and attach the extension... It shouldnt be too bad, Ill do mine tomorrow.

yeah it is pretty easy if anyone has any questions just pm me! remember as i stated in an earlier post you have to trim back a little bit of the thin metal inside your fender well.....damon glad to hear that you decided to go with your cai after all! i am loving mine! even with pouring rain here last week i have had no problems!

I bought a 3 inch extension from Kragens today, because I don't want to trim some metal in the car.
I will install it once I've got some more time. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

okay im eating my words on this one... did you guys get your injen pipe to be flush with the cai pipe or did you have a gap? i have mangled the metal and removed the fender to chassis brace and I still cannot seem to see how this thing actually fits...

Like I said, I have a gap between my CAI and the INJEN, instead of having to trim the metal, I've decided to buy a 3" extension to connect them. It's actually 22 degrees angled, and 4-5" long. I'll take a picture once I got it installed.

^ i apologize, you were totally correct... I had a terrible time with mine. I bent a great deal of the metal back but just couldnt make it fit well enough for my standards. Good luck with yours!

guys just look at the way that i did mine! i trimmed back a couple inches and it works great! if you want to buy an extension to the extension that is fine, but not really necessary! my extension sits about an inch away from my injen sri and that is where the couple is so that you can have some flex! pm me if you have any more troubles!

vs. the sri, do you feel any power?? and how about mpgs?

Im sure it fits if you really commit to it, but I wasnt sure about the idea to begin with. I wasnt happy with trimming so much metal and just got frustrated, so I decided to part with it and use my money elsewhere. Props to Randy again for getting this done, Im glad people are enjoying it!
