Next week - AFC NEO

Next week - AFC NEO

Postby no_escape » Tue Apr 08, 2008 8:21 pm

Ordered a AFC NEO on ebay 3 weeks ago. After afew phone calls, various emails, being lied to, and a dispute... I finally have it. Well it's at a friends till I get back home from Florida. I don't have the guys ebay account name since he dissapeared 2 weeks after I ordered it. The day the dispute was sent was the day it was shipped out. I figured the guy was trustworthy on ebay terms since he had a 99.8% pos. feedback and over 1000 sales. I think this will be the first and last time I will buy from ebay.

Back to the upgrade part. I remember seeing a wire diagram on here that someone had for either the S-AFCII or the AFC NEO. Anyone have that link or was the one who posted it? I'm sure next week I'll be back here with more questions.

Plus if I remember, I'll try to make a tutorial with pics for this.

Thanks for all who help

Here it is:

http://www.solaraguy.com/viewtopic.php?t=39195

the actual install for the safc2 and the neo is the exact same, only difference is the neo has two 12v ignition wires, which will both be spliced into the same wire on the ecu.

Finally back form florida and it should stop raining tomorrow and be in the 70's. After washing the car, I'm going to install the Neo.

I know I'm suposta have it tuned by a pro and I plan on it but since I'm running pretty lean. I want to slightly street tune it abit so the cars knock sensors don't keep going off. I'm not going to be stomping on the pedal till it is properly tuned.

I'm looking for someone who has similar mods to me so I can get a base line where I can tune my neo similar but not the same.

The install went flawless. Didn't have much trouble except I only used one male and female connector that came with the neo... I didn't much care for them. So I had to make a trip to true value for afew supplies.

I didn't take pics yet of the placement of the Neo. I need to do alittle fabrication with a dremel. Tomorrow I will finish them up.

Car runs abit better but I'm still having trouble with running lean when the throttle is at 20% or more. I plan on a dyno tune after I order and install the super pro bushings and an alignment... I can feel her being off abit.

sounds good.

but how do you know that you're running lean at 4psi and big injectors? Do you have a wideband?

I'm at 6psi right now and I ran into fuel problems with my stock injectors....now I installed my 330's and I'm running pig rich to the point where I have no power and I'm running afr's probably in the 8's or 9's (my aem uego only goes to 10- after that it's all guess work but I can smell unburnt fuel beyond belieft)

While I was driving my car, I had a friend behind me in his. When I put the pedal at about 50% and it was hesitating, he could smell in the air that I was leaning out.

And you right, bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump... one would think rich. It really throws me for a loop.

you should be running 14.7 AFR while cruising & Partial throttle & 12.9 - 13.4 WOT

Yah, 9's is mega rich, suprised your car doesn't just shut off

you should get a wideband AFR, i just installed mine, solved all my problems running perfect now
