Brake Upgrades

Best prices I have seen are @ groupbuycenter.com. I think everyone reccomends Goodridge. They're also availible for a bit more at The Tire Rack. They cost btw. $100-$130. I was quoted an hour of labor to install by the local shop here.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

TRD no longer has them, but the company who was producing them, SMC/Goodridge still makes them.

I bought my SSBL from tire rack for $120
I have the brembo rotors and Porterfield carbon kevlar R4-S pads. If you wanna spend the money on the pads they are worth every penny. The cost $160 for front and rear, but they really are worth it.

The brakes on the solara are very weak from the factory.

It's not hard, my friend did it on his WRX.
U need special wrench to untighten the screw and preferably the speed bleeder.

Does anyone know where to buy SS Brake line for Solara btw?
What is the good price?

yeah, i saw some on ebay for $85 or buy it now for $99, so that's what got me thinking. I looked them up on tire rack and they have them for $123. I've just never messed with brakes before, so i was looking for some advice.

You need a 10mm Flare Wrench to take off the original line and put on the new line.

Or you will learn the lesson the hard way.

Thanks for the info about the flare wrench and ImpactX for telling the size. I guess I'll go buy one before I start my next project. I'm getting the 4-rotor Big Brake kit from Eric and want to put Goodridge S/S lines and either Porterfield carbon kevlar R4-S pads or Axxis Ultimate pads on all at the same time.

Does anyone know if the brake line is the same for the 99 Solara as the 99 Camry? I want to order them from Summit Racing along with some other hoses but they said Goodridge doesn't have an application listing for the Solara. I checked and they are right. All I can guess is Tirerack must be using lines from another application. My guess would be from the Camry. Anyone know for sure? Thanks -JoeB

**EDIT** I just did a little more searching and it looks like Ryan answered this 11/02 saying there is no difference. Sorry I didn't search good enough the first time.
