Replacing Springs

Hi guys, I know this has been discussed a million times (I have been through the searches) and most people say to replace the struts when you put lowering springs (Tein,etc.) on, but I wanted to hear from people who have installed lowering springs but kept the stock struts. I don't drive this car hard so I was hoping to get away with just changing out the stock springs with a set of Tein S-Tech's. If you have done this can you let me know if the ride was noticably more bouncy and did the struts blow out a lot sooner with the lower stiffer springs? Thanks a lot for your help.

first time i did lowering springs + stock struts = a little to bouncy for me

2nd time i did lowering springs + Tokico = a lot less bouncy

and other times taking out, replacing parts...

if you dont wanna waste time, just get the struts...if you cant afford it, see if its worth it to you spending another time spending three hours replacing them (three hours is for people who are familiar with it). You'll prob spend at least 5 figuring it all out.

Ask Toy1mzfe, he has tein springs on stock struts, so far to my knowledge he's had no problems. PM him and you can find out for yourself.

^^ or you can spend 2 days like me when 3 of your end links are rusted through and you have to dremel through

i get my tokico's tomorrow.

ive had eibachs and stock struts for about 8 months. lil bouncy, and it kills the stocks struts after a while, but if you dont have the money and want to drop it wont hurt anything

Thanks for the replies. But I've decided to suck it up and replace the struts as well. I am thinking of going with either Tokico struts or maybe a set of KYB's. It sounds like the KYB's may give a little smoother ride than the Tokico's. This is my daily driver so I don't need it to be too stiff. Has anyone used the KYB struts with the Tein S-Tech's? Thanks again for the info guys, I really appreciate it!

I have TRD springs with KYB's on my daily driver with no complaints.

Your sig shows sick drop with only TRD. Noticed you have the Gen2 17"s, but still looks way sick for a TRD drop! :sweet:

Thanks, I wouldn't want it any lower for my needs. I punished myself for way too long scraping the ground in my Accord with C/O's.

the part # for eibach springs is 8273.140 is it correct?

Im not sure how long i had my springs on.. maybe a year.

U can drive with stock struts but the thing is that you are going to need to change them out later. But if u dont have the money to pop right away u can always do it later. just think of reinstallation and alignment. BTW it depends what condition ur stock shocks are as well.

Its getting bouncy now. Im in the market to buy shocks.. or ahem... Coils....

But it sucks.. i need to do an alignment after the shocks. So im gonna wait it out a bit more.
