gotta oil question!!!

Postby shocar4 » Sat Apr 12, 2008 6:10 pm

what is the contraption or port that is located to the right of the oil filter on the 1mz motor! i am installing my oil pressure gauge and i am going to get a sandwhich adapter, but i noticed this object that has a drain port beneath it like if you loosened the bolt it would drain oil! anyone know what this is for! almost looks like my pressure sensor would thread into it, but i am sure that there is a purpose for it! thanks

If you had a picture that would help??
But if i'm correct that little port that looks like a goldish color is for the radiator drain for the front of the engine.
There's 3 places to drain the radiator fluid, one on the radiator, and 1 on the front of the engine block that has a goldish look to it, and then there's another one on the rear of the engine block.
The front port is for drainin' the front of the block and rear port is for the rear of course.
If you loosen the front one be sure to tighten it back as much as you can, i loosened it once to change my radiator fluid and didn't tighten it back up all the way it was drippin' radiator fluid until i fully tightened.
