Hi!!! Just got a 99 Toyota Solara

Postby DesertFlamingoSolara » Fri Apr 04, 2008 1:30 pm

I just recently bought a 1999 Toyota Solara SLE-V6 in Silver. I was driving a 94 Mitsu Galant and it was totaled out. (long story). My parents found this car for me and I LOVE it! It has 96000 miles on it and still has the new car smell. 8) :D

Looking forward to meeting new friends who love their car as much as I love mine!

How can I get a picture of my car up here? I tried putting up an avatar but that hasn't worked either.

oh...also, is it super important to fix the "IAC Valve" ???? It was recommended when the previous owner got the 90k service done. I haven't noticed any idling issues....but you never know right?

It wouldn't hurt in replacing it. if it was never changed out i would go ahead and do it. See how much the part is by itself and if you can, swap it out yourself. as for the pics, go to photobucket.com and set yourself up.

Thanks for the tip! I'll call around for the part. I am NOT mechanically inclined so I have no clue how to install it myself. Any tips?

I just called the toyota dealer and they told me that since the CEL isn't on and it isn't idling funky that I should just wait. I was so shocked to hear that from a dealer. It was nice to know that they aren't telling me to get right in and spend money.

btw, my significant other can barely hook up a VCR. LOL
