Rolling rear fenders...what to do with front ones ?

Ok, I just saw nice wheels I like.

They are 19X8.5 with +33mm offset
I think by rolling the rear fenders it will fit without a camber job.

But what it will give for the front wheel ?? I think there is no fender job possible, is that true ? I touch under the front fenders, I can feel that everything is smooth ! ;) How you guys make to make fit wider wheels (with lower offset like +33mm) in front ??

Thanks to anyone (Understood Milt ?? )

Yeah it can be ! :D

I found some interesting wheels but my concern is fitting.

19X8.5 +33mm offset bot front and rear. I guess the rear I will be able to roll my fenders. I even found a place where you can rent the rolling tool. They ship it to you, you use it and you send it back. I just don't know what will be my options for front wheels aside camber change.

19X8.5 vs 19X8 (I had before) is 6 mm extra toward outside
but still flush even with the tire
+33mm vs +40mm is 7 mm extra toward outside.

Total of 7mm this is not negligeable I think.

What do you guys think ? My wheel confort zone is around 8" wide with around +40mm offset....

Well if i remember correctly, you can only roll the metal parts of the fenders. This would leave you a problem of what to do with the front adn rear bumber coversections. often i have seen people shave the fenders or cut them and do some sort of a fender flair. that will require paint and bondo and stuff to do it. you could try doing a camber kit, but it's going to cause uneven wear on the tires probably to make it fit. I'm no expert on this cause i haven't done it myself. But from what i know from the suspension classes here, that the wheels will tuck in a little as it travels in towards the fender, but my guess is that with offset, you'll be real close to the edge. What size tire will you be running with it?

Exactly why I don't want to play too much with the camber.

I would like to use the same tire I had 225/40R19.

Man, there are so many things that can kill your enthusiast about some wheels. Bolt pattern than width + offset than tire size.

A bit frustrating !

Always wondered (if anybody can tell me): don't offset wheels on a front-wheel drive slow you down a bit or is it negligable? I'm thinking about the physics of it and I keep getting this mental picture of a 120-lbs. man pulling a 1500-lbs. donkey cart down the street. Also, are there any noticeable steering changes while driving or taking corners?

I'm currently at 8" wide and +35 offset with my wheels - not much rub on the fronts and didn't need to re-roll the front fenders - they're already pretty good OEM. I did remove the plastic crap and sprayed undercoating up in there and bent in the tabs that were holding the plastic crap up FWIW.

Do you think with your current car you could hold 8.5 +33mm offset wheels ? (an extra 6mm towards outside)

How do you remove the plastic crap in the front fenders ? Since I'm in Quebec...it is a delicate things to do with the winter and salt we have.

I'm not sure on that width - I know I had to go from 235's down to 225s so they wouldn't rub, so the wheels may clear fine since the offset is the same, the tires may still be okay unless you go up in size.

I wouldn't recommend removing the plastic shrouds in heavy rain/snow/salt conditions! :o Time to get a winter beater Sebas!

^^^

If I go with a winter beater...I will probably go to a real sport car like the G's or Z's but I can afford it. It is why I end up with a compromised car...I like it for sure but I become crazy when I see good pics of Nissan RWD coupes.

I give up on the 8.5 +33 offset wheels. They were EXE (by Axis) Konvex
http://www.tunerzine.com/view_article/car_feature/carbon-gs

Now I'm aiming for Axis Shine
http://tinyurl.com/36ffox *Edited for Tiny URL! ;)

I still don't know but I'm sure it will look better then my old wheels. Somehow they got the same shape but the color pattern is different and the Axis Shine have some lips !!
