How are the wood pieces held in? Are they just clips or are they screws?

Any help would be appreciated =]
Thanks!

hsakuragi and trdkamuri510 was talking about this at the last meet 04-17-04...

hsakuragi removed and repainted his trim so im sure he'd be glad to help you on this... but from what I heard trdkamuri said, for the doors, the "proper way" to do it is to remove the whole door panels and then remove the clips from the inside since itll be a BiyaCh if clips are broken.... the ones on your dash... im clueless sorry jeff

If you're talking abt the decal kit, heating it up might help. I know thats how you apply the adhesive, so maybe it'll help in taking it off.

Just removed the wood trim off my car today. The dash pieces were very easy to remove. You just have gently pop them off with a flathead screwdriver. Now the door pieces are easy also, but just to save you guys some time you do not have to remove your door pieces because its pointless. These pieces are plastic welded in place. Toyota melted the tabs to the backside of the door. So you just have break all the clips to get it out. As far as getting them back on I haven't got that far yet but Im planning on using that 3m double sided tape to stick it back on.

I did mine and yeah they were plastic welded. Maybe I was lucky but when I put them back in the door they popped and held enough so that I used the new super glue that's kinda like a gel and let it set. It takes longer to harden but worked great.

i broke most of the clips too... but its not noticable at all after i glue them bak in.... i used LOTS of dental floss to pull them out... i was scared that the wood trim will break in half if i yanked it out from the ends too hard.... loopng the floss around the trim is the safest thing 2 do....
i have all my wood trim as well as my center dash painted black w/ silver sparkles.... sounds weird but looks nice tho... i'll post some pics up later =]
