Don't Trade In

Postby red2002solara » Wed Mar 12, 2008 8:47 am

I have an 06 SLE V6. I had an ISimple Ipod adapter installed, so I can play my ipod from the car stereo using the stereo and steering wheel controls. I'm currently looking to get a bluetooth car kit installed in my car. So I'll have the same must have features the 07-08 Solaras have.

I bought my car a month before the 07 went on sale. If I would have waited, I would not have bought the Solara. I hate the reverse lights being moved to the bumper, and I liked the white faced gauges much more than the optitron gauges. Of course, I wouldn't know what I would have bought instead, there are no other cars out there that wowed me like the Solara did.

I'm keeping my Solara until it's rusts out on me. I'll just upgrade it with aftermarket stuff over the years.

I'd keep the Solara you have now. You'd lose too much money on the trade in, and why pay more in interest when you have a good rate now. Doesn't make sense to have a higher rate when trading in for the exact car you have now.

buy a new factory MP3 player - 500 bucks
buy a new factory tail light - 400 bucks
buy a new factory HID headlight - 800 bucks
um.. drip rail, i have no idea what's that, since i don't have convertible.. sorry
a ripped off installation fee - 1000

total = less than 3k

upgrade to newer front, rear bumper, and spoiler - 1000
paint the bumper and spoiler - 1000

new balance = less than 5k

upgrade to a new car... adding at least 12k....

it's like u buying all those stuff at the worse price.
and guess what, it is still cheaper than changing to a new car.

I will look into the ISimple. I bought the ipod2car before they updated their website - had to take it back when they finally did.
