Headlight projectors?

Looks like an after market headlight...and i don't know if its just me but above the cutoff it just seems to bright...like stray light coming from that projector.

actually its not an aftermarket projector headlight per sey, rather an FX35 retrofitted into my black housing headlight. The Halo ring will not work without the headlights on, as I did not link them to my corner lights rather my foglights. I did this so when a cop passes me by I can turn off both my halo and 8000k 50w fog with the flick of 1 switch.
the light output near the projector cutoff may be due to a few things
1- i had the shield modified to give a bluer cutoff this may have caused light output to be a bit higher at cutoff than normal
2- I had a custom chrome shroud fabricated on the inside of my headlight, this may cause a tiny amount of glare which will throw off more light
3- the picture was taken with the stock FX 4300k phillips bulb. Since then I have upgraded to an Ultinon 6000k bulb and the light output is almost 100% evenly distributed in the beam.

Yea i guess missed that....i didn't think that the solara's had those lines going through the headlight lens. The cutoff is a bit arced so I kinda assumed that you had did a color mod. I did that to my s2k as well.

FX35's are hard to color mod and maintain a sharp cutoff. I've been playing with the lens spacing in mine to get the sharpest cutoff possible and still achieve some color. So far, I've had to swap out the lenses for XLR lenses to do so.

BTW, Webb26 those s2k's look really nice. I would have loved to use those in my setup but I had to go bi-xenon.

in my lovely little town of torrance i have gotten 2 fix it tickets for
"illegaly modified lighting"
If I run just straight projector without fog or angel eyes, even though its modified, cops usually wont even look twice at me

If I had overexposed the shots like everyone else...it would have look better :D ...i like the fx though. In all honesty if i wanted to go back and do my retro i would probably not do the color mod.

I've been hearing that a lot lately. Makes me wonder if messing with a color mod is even worth it. The FX is so sharp and wide in it's stock form that it's a shame to mess with the cutoff. I'm sure the yellow cutoff would grow on me after a while, especially since I have yellow fogs.
