TRD Muffler finally installed

TRD Muffler finally installed

Postby anwagbo3000 » Sat Feb 23, 2008 8:53 pm

Well, i have finally gotten my TRD Muffler installed and it was a hastle to get the old one off. The hastle was because the nuts were a bitch to get off, it took me a arm and a leg to get the top nut off and i had to get a air pressurized tool to get the second one off.

But after i finally got it installed, i started her up and it sounded beautiful, almost brought a tear to my eyes, but I am glad that i got it installed, it was free but what was suppossed to take like 30 minutes took me like 2 hours because i wanted to do everything myself, but after i put my selfish pride in the back seat, we ( Me and my mechanic) finally put the trd muffler on and everything was all good.

does anyone know how much horsepower the muffler actually adds?

i also got a summer project for my solara as well, so big things for me and my solara are going on here and in the summer, if anyone has any questions about my plans or any suggesstions let me know.............................holla

it's a muffler. you wont get anything unless if it's at least a catback or increase piping size maybe. Ask Midias about it. he has the trd muffler with a few things done to it.

slap on an intake to complement the muffler and you'll be setting off car alarms in parking garages. thats what i do when im in the parking structure at school with my setup...im sure both are just as loud.

Too late now but next time try penetrating oil. It's best applied the day before but sometimes an hour of soaking is all it takes to get a stubborn nut loose. If that doesn't work take an ordinary household propane torch to the nut. That'll often expand the nut enough to break the rust. If all else fails grab a nut cracker. It's an inexpensive tool that splits a nut open, the downside is you need a little space to use the tool.

Cheers
