Yep. Not until they make truly omni-directional LEDs at least!

No way to get a cluster bulb in there either - been there, tried that, sent them back. ;)

You can always install some aux fogs on your bumper too!

What cluster bulb did you try and what part didn't fit? (too long? too wide?)

For over 30 years that was my understanding also. Like blinkers and center mount stop lamps, everything on your rear end is supposed to be a signal or indicator to other drivers. Any illumination you had from the reverse lights was just a secondary benefit.

Yes, when you look directly into them from the outside, they are bright as hell, but when you're reversing, with back up camera and all, they fall short of stock bulbs. For people with back up camera's installed in the license plates, I recommend the Hoen rear license plate bulbs. I have them and they rock, you can definitely tell the difference when you're backing up at night. Plus you get one year warranty on them. All the LED license plate bulbs I've bought on ebay have failed me withing a couple of months. They start to flicker and everything. The Hoen's are expensive, but well worth it in my opinion.

You want to get the W5W LED bulb if you're using 194. Again, these are for license plate bulbs, not reverse. You're better off sticking with stock reverse bulbs than getting LED or just do a 07 taillight swap.

Exactly what I've thought as well...

And I found that my '07 LED Tails more than light up the night with the brake lights alone (can't see sh!t with the ragtop anyways) so my feeble attempt with the LED strip is purely cosmetic:

yeah, i am mounting some flood lights under my car. I don't think the bulbs will help, sman, but thanks. The may be marginally better, btu the reflector itself still seems to point upward.

I just wish I could afford the gen 2.5 bumper and use those reverse lights :)

^^^ Geeze - I can't remember - just Google seached for them and found from somewhere overseas. That's two strips side by side - about 15" in length each. I think they were about $40 a pop.

I have a few more left that I was considering using for interior illumination some day... still not sure if I will though.

or you can get it from my favorite place: Oznium

http://www.oznium.com/led-flex-strips

They make great products, I have them in my car and they've never failed me. $40 a pop is pretty expensive, but hey, it looks great!

Finally someone with some common sense truth. I'm just gonna tint mine out blue to blend in with the car once the snow melts

blue tint is poorly made btw, and often doesn't carry a color change warranty or a warranty against fading. I would not reccomend that choice.

Also, i installed some actual reverse lamps under my car that helped a lot.

Say it aint so!

I really want to tint them out blue and well as eyebows on the HID's. This is the only color I think black tint looks bad on.
