have you changed your rear bank O2 or air/fuel sensor?

I cannot figure out how anyone is supposed to be able to get this sensor off. The front bank is easy; the rear is a maze of hoses, tubes and frame. I had my car on jackstands today and was able to get a wrench in there (barely) but had no way to get any decent leverage on it. Could use some advice, and fast.

Happy 100,000 miles to me!

I changed mine about a month ago. I have thin arms and was able to reach it from the top. I was leaning over my air intake system and reaching down the backside of the engine compartment with my right arm. Once you loosen the sensor, you should be able to unscrew it by hand and unclip the sensor. Does this help? It is not an easy task but it is definitely achievable.

I tried it from the top as well but i was kinda beat from yardwork and getting frustrated. I also think i was making it harder on myself by using an adjustable wrench. I will go to the store tomorrow and get a proper wrench with a longer arm.

Can you confirm that it is 22mm?

Also, did you change air/fuel sensors or oxygen sensors? I wonder if the location is different.

I used an ajustable wrench. I got very frustrated as well. It does take time and PATIENCE. Let me know if you have any more questions. Oh, and I have an 02 sensor.

Picked up one of these oxygen sensor removal tools today...

Will also use penetrating lube and a hammer if necessary. I have also heard heat helps facilitate removal. Will post a DIY in a few days. Wish me luck.

Good luck. You can do it! Plus I think the DIY will be great because it seems that many have had this problem.
