HELP! XENTEC HID H11 BULB WON'T FIT HOUSING

Postby 04Frost » Thu Feb 07, 2008 9:01 pm

I just got my Xentech HID kit in today and tried to install them. I got the ballast mounted and wires install correctly, HOWEVER when I tried to install the bulb in, I realized that the prongs (three of them) that lock the bulb are too small compared to the stock.

Has anyone else had this problem or know what I can do.

Thanks

uhh.. did you rotate it in right way? all tabs match up? make sure it's correct bulb? check package/box, as well as bulb.

The package reads H11. I can't rotate it b/c the prongs / diamteter are way too small to even touch the original housing opening that locks it.

04Frost,

How did you know I had this problem in the past? Or did you PM everyone this question?

Are the 3 prongs made of hard plastic or metal? If they are plastic, what I did with mine in the past was sand the side edges of the prongs down, whichever prongs I felt were too big that prevented it from inserting inside the housing.

Geminiz,

I read through the entire posts to get some insight on the HID installation before I asked the question. I noticed your post from there.

I resolved the problem. Simple case of stupidity...I was trying to replace my high beams with h11.... ha ha ha.

My next problem however is that my passenger side bulb turns on for 3 secs. then cuts off! Does this mean they sent me a bad balast? Perhaps the fuse burned out--in which case, how do i replace the fuse? Do i need to take apart the whole balast? I tried contacting the supplier, but no responses...

Any suggestions? my baby is rolling around with mismatched eyes :(
