The size you posted, 215/45/17, is the TIRE size and is less important than offset and width for fitment.

So, which were you looking at specifically? 17x7 or 17x8?

Surely not more ugly than you're stock 16's !! :o
Taste is personal...but for you stockies it might be a general opinion.
A good looking wheel itself can look like crap on a kind of car....and an ugly wheel can look good on a certain kind of car.
Anyway...

I've the 19X8 (+40 offset) silver with carbon spokes

:-? dont take it personal... and yes, much more ugly than my stock 16's

ill give you this though, on your car, they look decent... mostly due to your upgraded brakes. i just feel the spokes are way too thin, the fake 2-piece rivets bother me too...

you wanted to know what we thought about the wheels...

either way, they should fit... provided the offset isnt too low or high... with this wheel specifically, i think 17x7 is a bit small... so yeah, id gor for 18's, which generally look better on a larger car like the solara.
then again for $500 you can keep the tires and sell the wheels for something better!!!

17s to me on any solara is way too damn small.
when I had my 17s they to me were too damn small. roll on 18s or 19s and you are set.

18s or better FTW

Contrariwise Sebastians car looks great. I see what you mean now when you said the car still rides at stock height w/o the wheel/fender gap

I would recommend you wait an save for 18s

i have 17' cuz they were TRD Revos and came w new Khumos for 300

but if i have the chance id go 18s

remember stock 15,16,17s are more rubber/ more comfortable.

18 19 20 will be less rubber / less comfortable, specially on potholes and bad roads. + more $$$
