Performance shops in NW?

I really don't think that this forum is about backbiting or I would not be here. I have asked questions and recieved good answers in the past.

With this in mind, is there a good full exhaust system that I can get for my car that won't make my car sound like some ricer fart pipe???

the greddyevo2 which i have is discontinued, same with the Apexi World Sport exhaust, and I think you can get the JIC Spartan exhaust but those are pricey, just google it and find a good site..

Or you can get a full system with exhaust, headers, etc.. by JP Performance, none of these really sound ricey at all to me.. is yours a 4 or 6 cyl? if anything, if you want an exhaust (not system) that will be a clean mean sound and not too loud either, I'd go for a trd exhaust, you can order it through trdsparks.com or somewhere else but with that kinda price for the trd exhaust, you might as well just buy a full catback.

4-cyl. I think it is the SFE engine.

If you are wanting any sort of increase in power, youll have to do a full exhaust system. I dont know if there is a full exhaust for the 2az solara or not, we still need to know if you have a 5sfe or a 2azfe

I totally get what you're saying and I know that I shouldn't really be talking but doesn't mean I can't be a lil annoyed by it, I'm sure people were just the same towards me when I first joined, hell we all know what I went through. I guess I'll just wait and see what he posts up in the Pictures thread, I'll leave this thread open for DJ since his intention was for shop inquiries, not for me and other people to flood it with other bs.

ok guys, so here is what I want to do with my Solara,

I have a 4cyl/Auto. I believe I have the SFE engine.

I would like to rebuild the engine and put a small turbo on it. I am not into racing, but would like a bit more when I am pulling into traffic or just messing around up in the hills.

Will I need to remap my ECU? Should I get a stand-alone ECU?

What questions should I ask potential shops to see if they actually know what they are doing???

^ almost everything is going to need to be custom on the 5sfe... you will need a downpipe, turbo manifold, new exhaust, the turbo itself, fuel upgrades like injectors and a fuel pump, a piggyback or standalone ECU, etc...

Turboing a 5sfe is a huge undertaking that will probably cost you an easy $4000 if you want to do it right. The 5sfe is not an extremely strong motor internal wise, so that is also something that you will need to look into.

I have thought seriously about finding a Solara SLE that has been totaled from the rear and using the 6-cyl, trans, etc.. to upgrade mine instead.

I don't want to get another car because my car is in perfect shape. Just a little underpowered.

^ that wouldnt be too difficult and would make you enjoy the car a ton more Im sure... a much more cost effective solution. Having both a 1mzfe and a 5sfe in my stable, I can tell you youll for sure be a ton happier with the v6 :lol:

Of course, if I did that, I would just have to supercharge the 6.
