is there any way to alter the stock grille, do mesh or something?
This is something fairly easy i hope, to do as one of my first mods on my 01'
and how hard is it to do the yellow film on the fogs

The fogs that I have are with yellow film. I used Lamin-X, I took out the foglights with the 2 or 3 bolts holding each one, them applied the Lamin-X film onto it with soapy water solution, then I pressed out all the liquid and let it dry. after doing so I trimmed out the edges to make a perfect fit. Voila, done.

For the grille I'd just go with a renova grille bro.

im in the process of doing the same thing, ill get back to you w my result, but i have my OEM grill just incase..i efff it up. or looks cheezy.

renova is the fastest way but you still spend on color-matching to the hood n bumper.

I would save the trouble of cutting ur grill and trying to put the mesh in. I have try it with my stock grill...i would just buy the renova grill, look much nicer.

yeah i been there, that is why i tried hard to convinced renova to make the grill for us. it is very hard to make clean job on the stock grill and find a nice way to secure the mesh grill.

It is easy to work on the stock grille, so I would suggest having some fun and tinkering with it. Look through the pictures section and see if you can get some ideas from that. I ended up painting my grille black and left the toyota emblem silver.

This only took 1.5 hours to do.

1. Take off grille
2. Sand grille
3. Prime grille
4. Paint grille
5. Reinstall

:o http://cgi.ebay.ca/99-01-TOYOTA-SOLARA- ... dZViewItem

I paid $220 from the dealer for a new chrome grill, this seem to be a great deal if the quality is good. FOr somebody who wants to keep the stock look of the car.

yeah, i got some paint and mesh, why did they make the stock grille so hard to mod?
and do you just pound out the back pins to get off the toyota emblem?
