Gen 2.5 up comes with HIR lights!

I wouldn't trust your average photographer to take a picture that shows the difference between the two...chances are both will just look blown out. :)

Oh well... Just wanted to let everybody know I will try out the HIR high beams in a bit. Need to talk over a few things, but I think that will be my final purchase. WILL POST PICS! :lol:

First of all, let me thank all of you for all the great info found on Solaraguy and your research, especially philosophicaljt who convinced (with the posted information only, no talk or PMs) on retrofitting non-HID way.

Anyway, I was looking into the OSRAM Sylvania catalog, but I'm a bit cr@pped about my FogLamps:

2005 and 2006 Solaras use 9145 bulbs...
2007 use H11 for fogs (same as my low beams)

According to DocJohn's post...(http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=12403&highlight=h11)...
I can replace my 9145s (H10) with 9005s (same base) but what am I going to retrofit to increase the output of my main low beams?
On the jeep article: (http://www.jeepprojects.com/content.php?article.43) it is mentioned that 9145s are 45W and the 9005s are 65W (nearly 50% increase in wattage); they are talking about the Sylvannias right (9005s are typically how many watts?)?

Bah, I guess I made a heavy post...hope nobody got pissed because of that

:drinking:

Weird, but the Sylvannia Guide shows the 2007s use H11s and HIDs, but no mention of HIRs.

Anyway, I was told that I may use 9011s on the foglamps, but even if I upgrade the low beams from H11s to H9s, my output will be higher on the fog lamps:

low beams H11 -> H9 (2100 lumens)
fog lamps H10 (9145) -> H11 (2350 lumens)

I guess that the diference here is the projectors on the low beams and since the foglamps are aimed low and wide, there should be no problems and although fog lamp output is higher, they won't look brighter due to the wide coverage...

Almost ready to place HIR order.
