I need some better brake pads....

Factory pads are currently worn out, but I noticed my brakes chew up OEM pads cause theyre X-drill+slotted
what pads do you guys recommend?
Island told me Hawk makes pads for fronts but the rears I would have to go with 97-01 Camry V6 Pads.. are they the same pads?

Please give me some input

I don't know much about brakes, but I can tell you that Hawk pads are great. I have never had problems with them. What brake kit do you have? Hope this helps

I have Hawk HPS pads front and rear and I love them... they had them listed for the solara on tire rack, so they shouldnt be too hard to find.

i just have brembo rotors
no big brake kit
was hoping to keep stock pads on until i can save up for BB kit but it doesnt look like itll happen now

^ I think youll be happy with hawk pads and brembo rotors, thats what im rocking and the stopping and pedal feel is great... stainless lines make a big difference as well. Of course a BBK will look more baller, but you can still get great stopping power without one. But of course, I want one too :/

the hawk pads aren't bad- I'm running them on the solara....my only complaint is that they don't have good stopping power until the brakes warm up- the 5-speed guys won't really feel this with engine braking though.

on my camry, and still my favourite pad though, are kvr

people recommend stock pads on the rear only because they are ridiculously thick and long lasting, which is perfect for the rear which doesn't do that much of the braking

^ yeah i agree with Eye8. I have hawk pads in the front and oem ones in the rear.

Another +1 for Hawk pads. I have them on my 03 full size chevy truck and they were worth the extra money.

You can also check to see if EBC makes pads for the Solara. They make great pads too.

axxis organics have been good to me....cost a bit more, but they produce almost no brake dust or squeal
