jesus... screw the dealership. I was thinking $600 max with parts and labor. I need the #1 o2 swapped out and was thinking at least under $1k for this and the belt (it's a $150 part and I've done this before in my civic... shellin out $150 in labor to take out that old 02 is well worth it)

My dad just had his Lexus done at a local shop. it was about $700. That included a new water pump, all the seals, and new idler / tesioner pulley's for the timing belt (came in the Goodyear Timing Belt kit).
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

I bought the parts myself, it was about 40 bucks for the Timing belt.

I also (bought myself) plugs, wires, water pump, A/C belt, p/s belt and RSB.

All of this installed for about $320.

got quoted for just under $700 and should have it ready by the end of the day.

Belt, WP, Tensioner, Seals, fan, and labor.

I got quoted just over $200 for the #1 O2 for the part and labor.

All this under $1k... As long as they stick to the quote, I should be pretty happy in the end.

Just got it back... $1000.57 w tax

Belt, WP, Tensioner, Seals, fan, #1 O2, a tire patch, and labor. For Anyone in Chicago, I recommend Ashland Tire and Auto just north of Addison on Ashland.

Rather speedy for a Friday in Winter too. I brought it in at 8am and they had it done by 5pm.

I bought the timing kit from Ebay for $199. My local mechanic will charge me anywhere from $180 to $250 for labor. I will have that installed 3 to 4 months from now (i have 7K miles to go before i hit 180K on my odometer).

This kit comes with a water pump, 3 belts, 3 seals, tensioner, idler, etc. The belts are bando branded and the water pump is made by GMB. These are quality parts as far as i know.
