What to look out for on 01 Solara's?

Postby Redline280 » Sat Jan 05, 2008 11:38 pm

I just bought a 2001 Solara for $4,500 with 98,000 miles on it. Regular maintenance was done by the previous owner and the 90,000 mile servicing was already done. Is there anything I should look out for with these cars? I want to make sure it is in good shape before going back to school and driving 60 miles a day. Thanks in advance.

Should be good to go if it was maintained properly. Just double check everything: Gaskets, seals, hoses, wires, plugs, fluids, belts and filters. Congratz on your purchase, and welcome to SG!

welcome to sg man! post pics.
another thing is to check blinker fluid, make sure it's at correct level, with winter weather you can never know :drinking:

I'll check the blinker fluid soon LOL. It's the 4 cylinder SE model. Just black cloth interior. These cars are so fun to drive even if they don't have a lot of horsepower.

Almost forgot, it has an automatic transmission. Do these cars look much better with tint? I live in Wisconsin and the maximum tint percentages don't look too dark.

5sfe's ensure that the tranny maint has been done. Ensure seals aren't leaking. See if/when the trans belt was last done. these babies will last as long as you want them to last
