Why do we need heat on our engine blocks if heat is already something that effects performance, makes no sense to me

A block heater is something that gives heat to your oil and engine when it's cold outside! When it's 32F and below like winter...so your oil is more liquid so your engine start easier... it comes with a 110V AC plug...it's not plug on the car but on an electric plug.

Personally I use a "battery heater", it give heat to the battery while the car is not use, so your car start beter in winter, the battery can lose 80% of it power when it's cold like here in Canada. It's cheaper ($30) than a block heater and easy to install.
