thanks, thats what i thought... i need new struts and springs.. I have stock rims.

So when you say it wont "let the engine not rock back and forth that much", sometime when i backshift to get a good acceleration i hear a litle "metal to metal sound" as soon as i press the acceleration pedal... is this what you are reffering to?

Backshift???
Do you mean downshift??
Describe this metal to metal sound.

use the search function, if you're coming up with all these old posts, i would imagine that you have come across the other torque rod post which has explanations as to it's function.

+2. How many posts is this about "what to do next to your car"? Dude. Just do what ever you feel needs to be done. SEARCH the internet and find out what is available for you to do and then do it. Besides, this thread isn't about you or your car. This is about torque rods and the people who are buying them for their cars.. Search and post in the correct threads.

You want nearly double the price for what they were selling for!!! No offense but you're crazy. I'll give you $55 - $60 for it tops.

well, considering that (to my knowledge) jim isn't making them right now, original price becomes a moot point.

i believe that eye8pussies is selling them for $75 to the US, and $80 to canada here

and JC Whitney sells 'universal' ones here for $169.99+shipping... but there aren't any guarentees that it will fit our application, since the picture displayed on the website shows two heim joints (one at each end) rather than one heim joint, and bushings on the other end to mount the transmission.

besides, the JCWhitney one is still waaay to much to pay.

or you could try your hand at making one

:o I joined here 6 months before you did Chinky!! I just don't talk a lot so you got more posts then me!!! With being a PC Technician for 13 years by trade, a vehicle enthusiast for 20 years by hobby, President of a car club with a chapter in each of 2 states with roughly 50 members between them, I've owned numerous types of vehicle, and I've been into many different styles along the way. I think that I'm definitely far from a noob to web forums, computers or vehicles.

At least eye8pussies gives a somewhat legitimate reason for the extra $20 over the original cost!!! Even though he's charging shipping for something he didn't pay shipping for originally, but no matter!

Maybe I came off like an a$$ to CAMRAZY, for that I'm sorry!! I'm a straight shooter and I don't believe in BSing people or candy coating the truth. I'm not some kid that pretends to be something I'm not and I believe high school antics should be left in high school.

At this point I'm not sure which way I'll go yet, but I won't exceed $75 whether I get it from CAMRAZY, eye8pussies, or if I make it myself.

lol

then go make one. we know that we can make one cheaper ourselves than 75bucks- though 55 is debateable, but then it takes a lot more time and it's not guaranteed to work either.

and how am I charging shipping on something that I didn't pay shipping for originally? it was $55 shipped, and I ordered 5 of them....and paid 25 bucks for shipping even though they all came in one small box??

maybe I walked to cali from nyc and picked them up myself lol

OK OK  GEEEZ!!! I made an assumption that was apparently wrong. I noticed the original add from Jim was $55 shipped and figured that he ate the shipping to you like he did for everyone else that ordered them.

Why would it not be guaranteed to work any less if I built it vs buying one from either you or camrazy?

well, it'll depend on what you think the specs are like...

with good research, it'll work just fine I'm sure. but as an example, one of the guys on TN thought that the entire assembly was 10mm instead of the 16/17 mm that it actually is....

he though that a 10mm torque rod would hold the engine without snapping.... lol.

so, yeah, just little things like that.

many people mentioned that the exact same thing can be made for less money, and I'm sure that it can, but then it'll just take multiple tries, and in the end probably cost more because of that.

a great product though, and if Jim ever does do another GB, I'd probably buy more again and see if it will fit my mom's gen5 1mz and my dad's sienna. It's a noticeable difference on my gen3 supercharged 5-speed camry, and it seems to help a good bit on my sister's supercharged solara....but it's an auto, so it's harder to tell.

I don't need a legitmate reason for my price. If you want it then go buy it from whom ever or get Jim to do a GB. Sorry, but I don't Bullshitt or candy coat anything for anyone when it comes to money. We are all grown men here (some women).

Just because I paid a certain amount for it doesn't mean I will sell it for that amount, we all know that, supply and demand, buddy.

PS, you can't have my rod!!!!

LOL, now that's funny!!

It's all good bro and you’re right, you don't need a legitimate reason for your price. There are no hard feelings over here!! Honestly, good luck selling it!! I’m sure someone will have enough demand to pay that for it. I’m just not that person.

I just believe in helping people out as long as I’m not losing anything. The hobby/obsession of customizing vehicles is something enjoyed by numerous people and it can take a lot of time and money. So I try to help out fellow hobbyists when it’s feasible.
