People with this 2-DIN trim may help me out. There is a pic of Mike T old setup. I pointed where I had a problem...the bottom of the 2-DIN trim keeps separing itself with the HVAC controls

I just have to put a little pressure from the deep back under the control panel toward inside the car and up and it goes perfect...but doesn't stand in place by itself.

How do you guys made to make it fits and keep perfect fit ??

I will post pics of my installation on the Kenwood DDX-7019 it fits just perfectly ! :D Still have some little probelm of DB gain and dipswitch with the Peripheral JTA product http://www.peripheralelectronics.com/periph_products/instructions/tja_instructions.pdf

Nav is great ! :D

Thanks to anyone who would take the time to help me out or give me some ideas.

well, when i did mine, they would seperate a little bit, till i relized i nede to tourqe the screws down tightly. Now i take it that you don't have the factory metal bracket anymore, so if you have pics of the bottom of the unit there so i can see how the HVAC controls mount in, i can help you come up with an idea.

Exactly what I'm thinking too...in fact, because of the low temp w/o any garage I paid for the installation (make me sick a bit...anyway) and I don't know how he finishes the job. The metal bracket are out and I'll post pic tomorrow...I've email Peripheral about the TJA sound level problem. The purpose of the Pheripheral TJA is to connect any aftermarket HU without by-passing the amp wire by wire...it's kinda work...maybe I (and the installer) just miss something with the dip switches that control the Db gains.

When I did mine I had the same issue. The mounting kit I had was plastic on teh side and I just ran a 1.5" drywall screw through the lower part on the mounting sides and into the plastic on the side of the AC controls. make sure you only screw into plastic and nothing important.

or you're either going to have to prop up the clock/temp/mpg tray a bit more forward..

better yet get the OEM navigation trim kit!!

Sebas did u use the original metal bracket for ur Navi???
Also I had that same issue
but I tightened the screws on the navi really hard and also push the Temperature control thingy up and it just stayed like that after...
and also by looking at the picture

the top part~ where the air-condition wholes? are at~ it lookz little weird up there~ I don't think you pushed it in all the way

Yep Surely the metal bracket were removed because the plastic ones are the only that can attach to the face plate. Thanks for the hint...I wanted to push back the temp control while tightening the screws...need to find a garage !! ARRGGH !!! The top part look fine to me...I'll verify that too. I'll have to play with the dip switches as the Peripheral support told me to do...but until now this Peripheral unit save me some extra work ! ( The little Peripheral unit is working I got sound in front and back not have to pass wires to every speakers of the car to by pass the JBL amp but it is the sound level that sucks a bit...it is the purpose of the dip switch, it is like selecting a volume boost ) :)

The silver 8" stock trim isn't first option for me. The gaps on the side make me doubt about it...

I will check during next weeks if I succeed to fix the gap...if not I'll not lose my time and I'll buy the OEM nav trim and reuse the metal bracket.

Wow Sebas,

I wonder why you have such a big gap there...that's very odd...

Hope you get it fix.
