Hey guys, this is going to sound pretty dumb, but how did you guys mount your ballasts? It comes with a little black mounting bracket, adhesive pad, 3 bolts with nuts, and some zip ties.

From what I can tell the ballast just sits inside of the mounting bracket, but it isn't very stable. There's nothing to keep it from popping out of the bracket. There's that small tab at the top, but it doesn't really get around the top of the ballast. I was thinking of just using some zip ties to keep it in the mounting bracket.

Then there's the issue of the bracket itself. There's those 2 holes at the top that look like they're supposed to be used to mount the bracket to something. But the bolts that come with the kit are far too small to be used in the holes.

I'm thinking of just using zip ties to keep the ballast in the bracket and some more to mount the bracket to the car (along with some double sided tape). But I still have no idea what the bolts are for then...

Like I said, sounds dumb right?

I have my secured with 3M tape. dont worry about it. if bolts are to big or smal, shop around for self tapping screws at home depot then.if u wanna secure the ballast inside the bracket wedge some 3m tape in there. otherwise just use the ballast itself and secure that alone to the car without the bracket.

Cool thanks. I'll probably go with the whole zip tie/tape deal, but it's nice to get some other ideas.
