that's because they use the same gauge cluster for all the solaras regardless of included features in the actual car

as for disabling ABS...it's pretty easy...just disconnect or cut one of the sensor wires....then the ABS light will come on and you won't get ABS...

couldnt you just pull the ABS fuse to disable?

i know that my mazda 626 was able to disable that way....though i havent looked if the abs fuse is under the dash, or under the hood.

but if it's there, it'll at least be reversible.

Why would it take longer to stop in snow with ABS?

I would think it would be more stable, therefore faster. i.e.: if your wheels start to spin or lock, you aren't stopping very fast, or controlled.

No it takes longer...except if you break hard and the snow get under the tire and then it slide on ice..

But I like the ABS..it make possible to break hard on snow/ice and keep turning where you want..but it takes longer.

Here we get snow for 3 days now and it's usefull.. I wanted to try without the ABS to feel the difference.

I guess that we migh just need to connect one more wire on the ECU to get traction control.. I try to find on the camry manual..I need to understand the schema.
