Traction Control

Traction Control

Postby VidGameKing » Tue Nov 20, 2007 8:00 am

Hey does every Solara have traction control? Or Anti-Lock Brakes?

My LE (i4) Had it's brakes lock up once, and everytime I floor the gass peddle it squeels the tires,

Just wondering.

a) abs brakes have been on just about every car since 1995, if not all, and b) just becaues you can "squeal the tires" doesnt mean you dont have traction control, if it shudders when you decided to ruin your OEM tires/rims then the trac. cont is kickin in. they all have it, yes.
--- i would love to hear how you manage to make those tires squeal with an i4 bud haha

I can squeal the tires from a stop any time of day! the car is a freaking squeal monster! And traction control would prevent me from doing that.

Also if I had ABS my tires woul;d not have locked up, I would have felt the ABS kicking in and the stires would stutter.

So I'm pretty sure my 2002 Lunar Mist LE I4 is no ABS, and no Trac-Control.

Or...

Maybe my ECU is throwing codes, and they've shut off those functions? Should I reset the ECU?

My 2004 Solara SE I4 have ABS but no traction control. My car doesn't need traction control, it only has 157 crank horsepower. 8)

The lack of grammer skllls here is amazing. Anyway, only the sle had traction control so ur looking at only v6 and automatic models. And my parents 2000 camry ce doesnt have abs. Still was possible with very base cars to not have abs.

My 2002 SLE V6 has ABS but no traction control... I think the traction control would require a specific ECU programming? Basically "Charge $200 for the feature that only requires a switch to be turned on inside the ECU"?
