Postby Phat Korean » Wed Nov 14, 2007 6:58 pm

for the past couple of days i would try to start my car and it would just die. i give it a couple of sec and then it runs just fine. when it comes back on, my radio and clock rset like it was disconnected from the battery. took it to the mechanic to put on the diagnostic machine and he couldnt find anything wrong with it. now it works fine  anyone got any clues?
btw, its a 2000 4cyl solara

Maybe check and see if your battery terminals are secure.

Same stuff happened on my Es..replace the battery terminals, and the thing that connects to the terminals..I recall my sister taking a wrench and popping the terminal back in at stop lights and people looking at us like we were crazy....LOL..its a battery issue, something is rusted or verge of 'needing' replacements. FYI: clean the battery nipples (or whatever else you call them) with that wire brush meant for cleaning them (its like 2 dollar brush). GL

You need to tell us more. If it keeps shutting down what did you do to get it running again?

From what you are telling me it sounds like your alternator because the way you say it is the car can start then dies a tad later. Because of that your battery are not charging back up.
