Gen 2.5 up comes with HIR lights!

Why have I never noticed this before? The Gen 2.5 solara comes STOCK with HIR headlights as the high beam! Thats freakin awesome. I placed an order for some through my dealer since they didnt have any in stock.

I am hoping I am right. They look exactly like HIR's from the outside.

When you get them, please post pics...

I'm interested in how they look when used as DRL's.

someone needs to post some pics of those bulbs then because i don't see how it can be brighter than HIDs. I think that is a sales pitch.

The article does not say they are brighter than HIDs.

It was GE's goal to create a bulb that produced 75% of the light output of HID headlights at 25% of the cost.

Meaning they are 25% LESS bright than HIDs. But they are still brighter than stock halogen lights...

These bulbs attain light levels 75% to 110% brighter than stock

I am interested to see these as well...

2007 solara (with factory hid's) highbeam - 90981-13066 - $58.62 each bulb.

As soon as I receive the bulb, I'll post pics.

Intriguing. Anyone else have a dealer they want to call and ask, so that I know my local dealers aren't just stupid?

If they will work for my Gen1 fogs (which are 9006) then I'm all in to get these...

Because HIDs die very quickly when constantly turned on and off quickly. This is no good for high beams because they are usualy not on as constant as the low beams.
