other than selling this car and getting some 4 cyl honda, whats the list of the best things i can do to get closer to that 30mpgs?
i have been getting a consistant 21mpgs lately. 24 has been the best and this is all on 93 octane. i am a little hard on the pedal sometimes. however, gas just jumped to $3.15 a gallon here today. this sux!!!

You need to NOT be so heavy on the pedal, and make sure you keep the car serviced...or stop driving.

You have a 2000, getting a consistent 30mpg is probably not likely, I get better than you in a V6.

I just pumped gas into my lara today, and found out that my lara's fuel consumption is 33.8 mpg on regular gas. (The mpg number was calculated mathmatically).

I drove it gently, did not use much A/C and avoided as much idle time as possible.

1) clean ur maf
2) clean ur butterfly valve/TB
3) change out the air filter(get a K&N if u dont already have one)
4) use 91 octane or higher
5) dont step on it too hard from dead stops
6)Dont leave the car idling for too long
7) Warm up the car for maybe a minute tops in the morning.
8) Get gas in the morning.

dont drive with windows down.
dont overuse that overdrive button or dont use it at all (if u have auto)

and pretty much whatever else everyone else said on here.

DONT put in Acetone in the gas tank. yeah itl increase mpgs from what i heard n read but it'll f up your engine.

Yeah why are you even usin' 93 octane??
The most octane you really need is 89, IMO maybe 91......
Wit 87 on a full tank where the gas is filled up to the openin' of the gas tank, and easy on the gas and not go on WOT i can get about 370 maybe 380 miles on a full tank of gas which somewhat equates to 22 mpgs.
If i WOT every once awhile on one full tank of gas i'll get 250 i think.....
All i have is Greddy Evo exhaust, K&N air filter, and 17's rims.
I change my oil every 3000 miles.

The Gen 1 V6 MT should be able to achieve 28mpg on the highway if you are easy on it. Bump your tire pressure up to 37psi.

I was able to get 26 mpg highway all day long with the S/C and running 30 SAE oil.
