Rim/Tire Size Question

Hey Guys, quick question.

I've searched left and right today looking for an answer to this one but didn't turn up anything useful.

I'm looking at picking up a set of 19x8.5 rims, +45mm offset with 235mm tires, is this going to be a problem on an unlowered Solara? I'm mostly worried about the offset and width of the rim.

Any feedback is appreciated

Lowered or not, that offset is a little high, but a set of 10 or 15mm spacers can take care of that problem, especially for the rear.

If I went with spacers, I'd need longer studs right?

If you buy H&R's, they come with longer studs, so do Ichiba usa and kics...

Are you going to buy the G-games that are on v6p??

fwiw, my 8.5" 19s w/ a 38 offset (rear only) fit nicely. They poke a bit so the fenders had to be chopped. But 6 months and I've only felt one rub on a dip doing 75.

8.5" up front might be a prob though. I have 8" up front with no issue.

I'm gonna hold off for now, I don't have time to monkey with spacers or pressing studs

^^^If you are getting them at a good price, I would go for it. Then start looking for a set of 15mm spacers for the rear, the front will be okay.

Your problem is the tire size you are currently running....

1400 shipped with 75% tread falken tires isn't a bad price, but the damage on the rims looks worse than it was originally described

Ass wipes at America's Tire only stripped 3 studs at my last visit. Impact drivers are the DEVIL! :evil:

- WTF do they still use them on forged rims?

I try to watch them like a hawk, but the last time was a 2-3 hour wait and had to leave the car so even though I warned them not too, it's obvious they fugged them up when we went to remove the front wheels and I don't have proof unfortunately.

^^ I just spent $160 to fix a problem that America's Tire caused on my ride. They fuX0rd up all the studs on the two front wheels and had to have 3 studs replaced and all re-threaded with new nuts - just because some idiot used an impact wrench.

The Firestone I went to up here in Ventura said that a couple places have an open PO for repairing AT f-ups and get them in daily. They are totally known for being as bad as Sam's Club/Costco for not knowing what they are doing or just being lazy. :roll:

That being said - they are part of the Discount Tire chain and are all independently owned, and I've had much better luck in the past with DT than I have AT.
