FINALLY A RELAY FIX TO FAST BLINKING LED TURN SIGNALS!!!!

Not sure if this has already been resolved and posted, if so please remove.

I converted everything externally and internally to LED and my only dislike was having my turn signals blinking twice as fast as normal.

My boy at Advance Auto parts found the Electronic Relay that works on our car and solves the fast blink!!!

It's a Tridon Stant EP35. Just thought I might help return the favor of the help I've received getting my car the way I want it.

If u mess with the relay there, then u wont know if u got a blown LED? i noe LEDs have a very long life time, but there ARE the exceptions...
y not soldier a resistor ?
i remember reading something on the net where they make special LED bulbs that doesn't have any problems. Heard that they'll start coming out even in headlights. Correct me if im wrong, anyone?

You won't know either way!! LEDs blink fast because the relay thinks you have a bulb out because there's not enough load on it. Besides I'd rather have an LED go bad then use resistors that can melt plastic, and/or catch fire. Your suppose to check your vehicle over at regular intervals. Lights, tire pressure, fluids, etc.

LED Headlights can be retrofitted in a painstaking process, but not as simple as bulb swap... First, you need a whole array of LEDs to make the bulbs work, like about 10-15+ larger LEDs. Second, the back end of LEDs (where the terminals are) are VERY heat sensitive, so you'll need a special cooling system just to keep the optimal light output; too warm and it'll dim your light output.

For the colder climates (but I think it's even a requirement here in sunny SoCal), you'll need a small heater for the front of the bulbs to replace the heat generated by the headlights to dispel moisture/snow.

One word of caution for turn signal bulbs: make sure it's not the colored type if it already has a light filter (e.g. don't put orange LED in the Gen2's turn signals), or otherwise it's ridiculously dim during the day... I learned it the hard way when I put red LED bulbs in the brake lights for my SenCrap when I first got it... Worked good at night, but during the day my friend was test-driving it and I can barely see it following it(in fact if it wasn't for the CHMSL I would've hit my own car  ).

NeFaRiOuS_SLE, I don't have cheap Autozone LEDs. Mine shine bright in the daytime and it's bright in Florida. I have LEDs in all four blinker corners, in the running / brake and in the backup and all are useful day or night.

Whoa, that took a long time for a response... I'm not saying they are, but incidentally, the ones I got were (but then again it was because the ones in there burnt out after 3 months) ... My main concern of the last post was the LED headlights, but I was also cautioning other people the risks of Pep Boys LEDs.

Yeah I had to take a break from pretty much all web forums, real life had to take a priority. Yeah to convert every light (except the headlights and fog lights) in the car to LED cost $200 or $300 dollars not sure anymore. Hell my brake / tail lights alone were $25 or $30 bucks each.

I've never heard of LED headlights, sounds interesting. I'm looking to go to HID after I do the Gen 1.5 conversion.

I couldn't really tell a difference between marker light and blinker in the front when they blinked fast but that might have had something to do with my LED bulbs. Who knows, I like it at the normal rate and I'd figure I'd pass on the info for anyone wanting it.

More 411: LED headlights Wiki
Well, it hasn't been released too far into mainstream production (So far only 2008 Lexus LS and Audi R8 ) and usually more readily available as customizations; I've heard of a conversion done in a Lambo that competed in the Gumball 3000, but can't find photos.
