Let me put my .10 cents worth in here. The gauge cluster is just like the one I have in my 04. Wonder why some thought this was a Canadian or British cluster???? Both of those would have been in kilometers. Strange.......

If I have such a cluster, how many gears do I have in my '04 Solara SE?

Maybe British, they use MPH.

What...British use MPH ??????????????????????

Seem like you are right :o

Except British miles are not the same distance as American miles.

Canadian yes, British, not so sure. They use MPH, but I can't remember what the car I drove looked like when I was there.

I can tell you for sure though, when you go to the UK, the distances and mileage are in MILES.

I stand corrected...the British are still on the Imperial measurement system...whick is the same as the US system. Britain voted down going metric as the remainer of the EU is on. There are only a handful of countries in the world that are not on the metric system.

Well, I just loved the common view of the car and I loved the engine (yes, I know, 4cyl, but it ROCKS). I didn't really care about number of gears when I bought it, but now in everyday use it's interesting to me :)

Currently there's about 10-12 Solaras in Kharkov, a city I live (1.8 million people here) and mine is the only one Cosmic Blue, so I love it very much!

Has it given any improved perfomance (0-60mph)?

There are 10 or 12 people that imported a Solara over there? Strange.

Why? 8)

People love here good cars, but it's rather hard to import a Solara here, so their number is limited.

That's why, you just said it.

I just find it strange that so many people would choose a Solara to import.

it should save u some gas, and by that i mean a very very teeny amount.

it should also help u on the 0-60 number, but it will be too small of a fraction of a second, in other word, nothing that anybody will ever notice if u swap ur 4 speed for the newer 5 speed
