Why replace the Strut bars?

Why replace the Strut bars?

Postby fastsolara » Sun Sep 23, 2007 5:49 pm

I have the stock upper strut bars on my 00. They seem to be able to do more than they are capable of. my questio is: how are the TRD and other brands better than that? For the most part they are the same thing. TRD and other brands are stronger of course, but none of us will ever have a car fast enuf to need the upgrades on them. I doubt any of us will ever corner like a race car. so.. are the upgrades for the strut bars really beneficial? or more so geared to looks and personal satisfaction?

Strut bars are (generally) only replaced so the S/C can fit.

Sway bars are a whole other story. The rear sway bar (TRD) is the best performance mod you can do to the 1-1.5 IMO.

yeah i can understamd the rear sway bar being a good upgrade.. going around corners too fast and hitting the brakes, the car tends to get loose. so that is probly something i will look into...

hey is there a website that more people use on here to get there parts? i have looked around but am not seeing anything particular but your average mod upgrades that you can get anywhere

Check wit Reggie aka "NVDIS1" and he can get you a TRD RSB.
Well the stock or OEM strut bar is ok, but i have one from ProCarParts that i did have on my dad 1998 Toyota Camry and on my Solara i tightened it pretty tight and i noticed a difference.

One of the main reasons why I bought my TRD strut bar is because my family's Camry did not come with a strut bar, so I put my Solara's stock strut bar into the Camry and installed the TRD strut bar into the Solara.

The TRD Strut bar is a lot harder than the OEM one, but the improvement is nothing in comparison to the TRD rear sway bar.
