Most comfortable suspension?

Most comfortable suspension?

Postby LatinDragonXJC » Sun Sep 23, 2007 10:09 am

Just a few questions, I'm in need for a suspension overhaul. After some searching, seems like everyone dropping the big bucks on Tein, tokico, eibach, etc.. I just want a smooth luxury ride again (if a drop can be achieved, without compromising the ride quality, even better).

Is our current stock suspension setup TRD?

If not, how much more (less) comfortable is switching to TRD suspension?

What's the price difference between replacing stock with stock and TRD?

i think aftermarket would be a lot cheaper then switching to Toyota OEM.

You really cant find a complete TRD suspension (springs and struts). But i think the most cost effective would be Tokico struts & either Eibach or TEIN springs.

TEIN have a nicer looking drop in that they have the car angled that it looks lower in the front then the rear (front looks like its dipping down).

I have Tokico struts, they are nice and for ~$320 shipped on ebay you cant beat it...

Thanks Unbalanced, how's the ride comfort?

hmm,

$320.00 for Tokico
$160.00 for Tein Springs (ebay)
+
_______
$ 480.00 :o :cry: :o + Labor = :crazyeyes: lol

How many hours does it normally take to install all that?

to do fronts and rears, just plan on taking a whole day. remember you have to remove the rear interior to access the rear struts.

If you are looking for luxury, do use any lowering springs. Just replace your springs with factory springs, and replace the shocks/struts with the KYB Excel-G. They are a better ride quality than OEM in my opinion.

I had Tein S-Tecs b4 on my WRX before I switched to a Full Tein Super RAcing Coilover set and I have to say that the S-Techs paired with a Tokico Non Adjustable Struts were better than stock in terms of handling and ride comfortability(is that even a word? oh well...).

The great thing with Tein too is that the front lowers more than the rear to make it look even...not like the other brands were it's either 1.5" all around or 1.75" etc,...

I say go with the Tein S-Techs or the H-Tech set...i guarantee you will not be disappointed
