Im sure many of others said the same thing too when they put jims fuel mod on there. A lot of people didnt even put it on cuz they couldnt get it loose.
I tried for the longest time to get it off. I used pliers to hold the filter at first while loosening the nut with the wrench. I also used PB blaster and WD40 which didnt help at all since its not really rust or anything thats making it hard to take off. Its just on there really tight.
so i had to call jim and just told me to do what he does when he changes filters for toyotas. and well it worked!!
But basically what i did was have one wrench holding the filter and another holding the nut that loosen it. I used a screw driver to pry them in the opposite direction and theyd work together in loosening it. Kinda hard to explain but yea thats what i did.

I finally did it. After trying it myself from the top of the car and nearly stripping the nut. I then took it to Toyota to do it, and they said it would cost $100. After hearing that my resolve was strengthened. I went to sears and bought a 14mm wrench that grabs the nut on 4 sides vs the two sides on a standard wrench ( you know, the one I used to strip it)
Then I changed the rules and jacked up the car, took the driver tire off, and low and behold, I had more room to play with. So I took the new and improved box end wrench ( 4 sides ) and taped in on the nut with the wooden end of my trusty bonking tool ( read hammer) .. The wrench went on, and off came the fuel filter.
After I took it off, I cut it open. It seemed to me that a fuel filter with 100,000 miles should have some garbage in it.. But with the exception of the iron fillings that I put there when I cut it open, I was pretty clean. [/img]
