clutch replacement

I think I got all the manufacturers, but I can't remember sure. If you guys select other, could you please specify what you got. Also looking for feedback on personal experiences and what type of Stage your running? Read some old posts, wanna see if some of those responses hold true.

I'm also looking for the stereotypical signs of the clutch going bad, besides it slipping or out completely (the obvious one's).

spec stageIII and fidanza/spec lightened flywheel

it grabs like nobody's business....very small bit of room to play with = very easy to stall

great for occasional bumper to bumper traffic...but if you're in it several times a day.....don't do it...

TRD used to make one, don't know if there are any still available. When I replaced mine I went with OEM, it lasted me 95k with the S/C, I figure this one should last me just as long.

Spec stage 2 / Fidanza flywheel like eye8pussies stage 3 " said if your in traffic a lot don't do it ......its a pain

let me add aswell stalls pretty easily till you get the hang of it

overall approvAL i LUV IT !!!!!! It stage 2 feels like stock but better ......

About how much does it cost to get the clutch replaced? Is it something that you can do yourself or is it a huge job?

Price varies depending on mechanic off course for example my guy charge me like 350 and I provided the clutch and flywheel ..I got a qoute from another dude he was charging me like 600 and i had the parts already to give you an idea

350 for labor a clutch/flywheel job is dirt cheap...600 is more in the usual range.

you've got a cheap mechanic, man....lucky you.



And to answer Kenz's question....it's a big job. Unless you either have an engine hoist or a lift, you're best leaving the job for a professional. There's a reason why it costs a lot to do the job.

in terms of wear and tear, can you tell that your coming close to replacing the clutch based on how far you have bring out the peddle until it catches or is that just a theory people like to say?

too soon for me to tell I had my install around like 3 months ago and so far no problems ..funny after it was put on and I was driving away it shut off on me you gotta feather that clutch now just luving it never going stock again as for the other brands I was debating between them but Dats was selling his spec for a good price brand new so I had to jump on it ....

As for the tear and wear thats a good question this is my first performance clutch so how can you tell ? anyone ?

Thanks for the info.... I figured that much, being a front wheel drive. I was just thinking maybe it was easier in a Toyota over a domestic or something.
