Actually it does. Just don't use the "Auto" mode.

Set your temp, airflow etc just the way you like it manually. The auto temp still works fine (as opposed to another near luxury car I owned before the Solara) and next time you start the car your settings are still just as you left them (unless you disconnect the battery then all bets are off.)

Obviously using the "auto" mode you're going to get whatever the system decides to give you based on the conditions it senses at the time.

Cheers

Hmmm, very odd. Mine ('04 SLE) stays wherever I've set it. The only thing that changes is the fan speed which will be low when I fire it up in the morning but will run up to mid range as coolant temp comes up to normal and the system tries to bring the rest of the world up to my 73 degree setting.

BTW I rarely use the 'auto' mode choosing to turn the AC on/off and choose airflow based on current conditions but my wife ('04 Highlander) always leaves hers on 'Auto' and might not even know how to toggle the airflow.

Different strokes for different folks.

Cheers

Yeah - you must have gotten the "special" model! LOL!!

I never use the auto mode - only manual settings. Like Jerry's it always goes back to recirc after engine shut-off. Maybe its just our converts that do it then?

Fan speed and temp on mine stays the same regardless.
