New to Forum and my 2000 two tone Solara

Postby Snake2715 » Tue Aug 07, 2007 8:24 am

Hello,

I figured now that I have a pic or two I should chime in here. I live in Michigan and about a month ago picked up my 2000 Solara. I also have a Ford Escape, and a few older Toyota Supras.
I am somewhat of a car enthusiast. I recently sold my Contour SVT and Taurus SHO so that I could get back to finishing my Supras.

I needed a daily driver that I could depend on, was somewhat unique, and also did good on the MPG side. After careful consideration of some Audi's, Nissan's, and a few others I decided on the Solara and began the hunt.

I am the second owner of this previously Florida driven car. I had a chance this weekend to get out and take a few pictures. I plan on keeping it pretty straightforward and stock. I will get the windows tinted, maybe a ground effects kit (stock type), and potentially some rims down the line.

Heres a few pics of my recently let go rides and my new one. Hopefully they are enjoyable.

My first car was a 1988 Mercury Sable. My father and I put the Yamaha SHO motor in it. It really would scoot.

The Taurus is an amazing car. Most auto-blooded people will tell you that the 1988 body style Taurus is the car that revolutionized the auto industry.

That car was as fast as my solara is now, and its design and engineering is 25+ years older! It was also as fast as the Mustang GT.

Yeah did they come from the factory with this two tone? I find it hard to believe the previous owners had it painted... but maybe they did.

Welcome to SolaraGuy! Yeah two-tones ARE kinda rare in the sense that almost nobody has it, whether it comes from the factory (but IIRC the factory ones only had a light/dark beige option), or custom-painted; looks nice either way.
