You can use d2s bulbs with it if you use D2S ballests as well. There should be a leveler control module that you will need to source as well and wire in. I'm not sure how tied into the ECU it is as i don't have an 07 factory service manual.

nor do I, but i plan to go to the toyota dealer near me and ask if I can copy a page or two. a couple local celica junkies told me this dealer was cool like that.

I don't think he's getting it. D2S / D4S is the bulbsize, it is different from an H11 bulb. For more information on the differences between halogen bulbs and HID bulbs, checkout the forums at www.hidplanet.com

Consider it a D2s bulb.
D2s:

H11 HID bulb (rebased of course):

H11 Halogen bulb (comes stock from Toyota):

make sense? Its a universal/oem sized bulb.

As for the Newbs..
The problem that you guys are the ones not getting it. The original Question from PoshPepper was; "Are the HIDs in the Gen 2.5 the same fitment as the H11s?" Meaning, if you could put regular H11 Bulbs in there?.....

Once again, miscommunication from the newbs, or lack of communication.

The answer to that is no.

And I seriously hope you aren't calling me a "Newb".
