Possible to reprogram remote to honk when locked?

is it possible to make it so that the car honks once if the door is locked or twice if cannot be locked... like other normal remotes?

Mine flashes the blinking lightes and thats it. I would like to hear if it locked.

I have the most basic toyota control: Lock, Unlock and a lil red panic button on the back. I think this comes standard

Mine has an annoying beep. One beep for lock, two beep for unlock, so four beeps to unlock both doors

My remote looks same as yours.

ya thats what i want... it might be annoying but at least i'll know the doors are locked...

Anyone know how to program it for that/?

mine honks....once when unlocked
and honks twice when locked...
honks three times to lock+window up+ confirmation...

I'm glad mine beeps instead of honks. I was not aware that the remote lock/unlock could be programmed.

KPXBOI, I thought all Gen 2s beeped, yours honks? Strange.

Look down in your driver's side foot well by the dead pedal on the left. Do you see a small black button? I have one and I can disable/enable the beeps with it. I think it also is used for the auto arm feature. I have the four button gray remote so our systems may be different.

for a 2000 SLE alarm/unlock dongle there is a procedure in the manual that explains how to change from beeps to lights and lights to beeps.

the beeping is the standard alarm, which activates when trying to break into the car (open locked door from inside or forced entry, etc etc)

the honking is the upgraded "VIP" alarm which goes off if u bump the car or loud noises, etc etc

kpxboi0619 said his honked during arm/disarm, which I thought was wierd, because I have a Gen 2, and mine beeps.

Notice he said something about window up confirmation kpxboi0619, what do you mena by that? I don't have any suchthing, and the remote doesn't raise/lower the windows (wish it did, as well as lower/raise the top!).

i with my remote controlled the windows as well, would be good for cooling the interior on hot days

For some reason.. my car like to choose when it beeps.. sometimes it beeps.. sometimes it doesnt.. its pretty annoying. I been wondering why its been doing that.

Mine only honks when I push lock 3 times,so I just do that to make sure it's locked.
