Do the Gen 2.5 headlights fit on the Gen2?

Well, I just got a steal of a deal on some Gen2.5 headlights with HID projectors ($200 for the pair off a 2007).

Will they fit my 2004?

Yep agree for the fit...but what about them working ?? Doesn't ask for specific electric spec or it has power converter embedded ??

Direct fit, yes, wiring, no... There's a whole lot more to it than fitment in this case (that's why there are currently no Gen 2s with Gen 2.5 HIDs to my knowledge)... Unfortunately I don't know much about this so I'll leave it to someone who does.

I believe there have been several topics on this, I'll seek around in a bit and post a couple... I'm at work right now, so maybe someone can search and post, or answer the question meanwhile?

depends on which gen 2.5 headlights you get if you get the HID ones then you need the ballast and bulbs.

if you get the normal ones should be direct plug n play

He got the HIDs bro.

Another issue I forgot to mention is the manual leveling... With as much of a pain in the ass everything else is, it shouldn't be all that difficult to wire though.

Sweet. I havent looked into wiring these yet. thats next. I need to get an updated Solara Service Manual.

I will post pics when everything arrives. And I do plan on using the stock D2s bulbs and ballasts. I already have the bulbs/ballasts.

I was thinkong of opening them up and just retrofitting these new HID projectors into my current housing, but figured it would be less work just getting these new headlights wired correctly.

Nice find man. Aren't the ballasts built into the headlights? Do you have any pictures of the headlights itself?

All good to know. I don't have any pics yet. As soon as I receive them, I'll post up my pics, don't worry. :)

So they have built in ballasts eh? I assume only for the D4s bulbs then?

Darn, now I need to hunt those down.

The D4S ballests should be attatched to the bottom of the headlight, but i'm not sure if they come with it (it's rare to find them with it unless the person doesn't know what they have). You can use d2s bulbs with it if you use D2S ballests as well. There should be a leveler control module that you will need to source as well and wire in. I'm not sure how tied into the ECU it is as i don't have an 07 factory service manual.

^^D4s. same thing as d2s, except no mercury, and the fit is a little different.

D4S and D2S are the same size bulb, the only difference is one uses mercury the other does not.
