There is no wire in pin 3. See why this is confusing?

YOU CUT THE WRONG ONE

You were a molex too low, cut the green wire in the harness above it.

yup, got it, and cut it. Which side should I connect to 12v then? the side coming from pin 3, or pin 4?

Pin 4, but first test the wires. At this point, your fog lights should not turn on at all. meter between pin 3 and ground, you should see +12v when the foglights should be on. And then check continuity on pin 4, it should show some resistance, but not much.

I think it would be the side coming from Pin4, but I want to be certain, and would a 9v battery be enough (for testing purposes?)

Kinda messy by the way: But its easier than it looks, lol.

I wouldn't trust a 9V. The diagram shows a 10A fuse inline with that wire, which makes me think there there is some power to it, cause otherwise there would only be a 5A, so you need to tap it directly to a +12V power supply with a 10A fuse inline.

doesn't work.....kinda.

When connected to a 12v source, it comes on, but only when the headlights are on.

So I didn't do anythingnew, just a different way of doing the same thing.

odd.....
