I've had dead batteries before. The easiest way to see if it's dying is to jump it, drive around for a few minutes, and then go home and turn it off. If it won't hold a charge, then the car won't start again. Batteries only come with a 1 year warrenty anyways cause they are only expected to last for two to three years. You cna go down to autozone and they can test the battery and see if it is dead. This is a free service they offer.

My battery dies prematurely too. Turns out that the dealer doesn't check the battery water. I think it's just plain wrong. I talked to the service manager. So, this is one service I to do myself.

I'm perfectly capable of doing 99% of the services, but I would have to invest in a code scanner. I just don't have the time. MUST do myself.

Autozone has codescanners that they will read your car free of charge (yes i know it sounds like i'm plugging them, but they do offer a lot of free services to help people). As far as putting water in it, make sure you use distilled water (PURE H2O) as the regular tap water will mess things up. Hopefully it's not to late to keep the chemical reaction going.

I had to replace mine at about 2.5 years. However, I've had my battery die twice because I left the door slightly open when my headlights were set on Auto. No really problems though.

Had to replace mine at about 2.5 years as well... I don't drive my car that much, and that battery died on me more than a handful of times... even though it wasn't totally dead, I figure it couldn't hurt to get a new one. Grabbed the top of the line battery at Auto Zone.

Dead battery fix. I jumped the car and drove 10 miles to the dealer. Left the car running (2 keys) while the service order was wrung up. I was lucky it happened in the driveway and a second car available to jump it.

It's also best to use "distilled water" and not "de-ionized water", "tap water". "spring water", "mineral water" or "seltzer water".

Most, may not know what de-ionized water is. De-ionized water has low conductivity (no ions) and may be very finely filtered, but may have undesireable chemical compounds in it.
