Isn't Safelite the company that manufactures many of the OE windows and windshields for many cars?

No. I can't remember the manufacturer but shortly after having Safelite change the shield on my Gen 2, I took the Toyota Purchasing Manager out for lunch. He noticed right away that the windshield had been replaced. (Blew me away.) Aside from the small printing on it, I never noticed any difference. The Toyota purchasing guys REALLY know their products.

Not sure if yours is the same, but the OEM glass in my car has Toyota written on the corner, along with a big fat Toyota sticker on the other-side. If all the OEM glass is like that then it would be easy to tell that it was replaced...

one time a 50 lb dumbell struck my old civic's front windshield and the old thing shattered, does that mean the windshield is defective? :P
