2.4L supercharger or turbo???

Modaman, as far as I know, noone on the forum has boosted their Solara (Gen 2).

You're on your own, but best of luck. You can be the first :)

I know that cklinh's intentions are not to discourage you... but there is a 2AZ-FE Gen1 Solara on this forum that was turbo boosted. I don't remember who though.

BTW, I would never trade a Solara for a tC. A female friend of mine has one and I nearly didn't fit in it (I'm 6' and she's a tad bit shy of 5'). Comfort provided by the Solara is definitely worth the extra weight; wouldn't even trade it for a Civic SI...

Guess I might be the first then. Well, seems like I will be putting together a kit. Ive been looking for places and its looking good. I've got a machinist to help with the piping and any other modifications. Also, theres a tuner shop in Elizabeth NJ here thats willing to help.

The Garrett t25 seems like a good turbo to start with.

500CC injectors....
the manifold and the drilled oil pan will obviously be taken from the tc.

maybe a manual swap which I hear is a pain in the ass.....

If anyone has any suggestions...feel free to lemme know...

you can either buy a new and more powerful car. or you can just forget about having dreams of your Solara 4 banger with forced induction.

I used to really want a turbo on my Solara, or a SC but the costs of that is way too much and for a college kid like me that doesn't fit my budget at all.

You know my brother got his Accord 2003 V6 for only 18,000 dollars out of the door, you should check those kind of sweet deals.

Good luck.

SFWD TC, All Motor TC and Hot Rod TC they all use the 2az-fe so it has a lot of potential. The turbo of the TC fits all it need is some extra tubing for the intercooler. Also the TC and the Solara use the same ECU.

This is a 10 sec TC with full interior from the NHRA Sport Compact Series SFWD class.

This is a 9 sec. All Motor full tube chassis pushing close to 400 hp.

This is a 8 sec Hot Rod TC
